Message of 7 November, 2011
Dear Pals of PCC 7 November 2011
I am writing to update you on a few bits and pieces.
Fund Raising
The first of our winter monthly markets takes place this Saturday, 12th November in the exhibition room. All 13 tables have been taken, which is great news. In fact there are only two tables left for the December market, so if you want one, book it quickly!
We have recently launched a couple of other fund raising initiatives, which will not hurt your pockets much (if at all) but might help ours.
These are:
ly benefits the environment too. You can also use the envelopes for sending in old mobile phones or some laser toners (check with the office for which brands they will accept).
YellowMoon catalogues.
Place an order from this low-cost catalogue and quote the reference number on the front, and we will receive a percentage of
the sale. The catalogue is for children’s products – craft items (stickers, card, kits), toys, games and stocking fillers. This can be
seen online at www.yellowmoon.co.uk If ordering online, please quote our source code – WPE 11155 – to ensure the cash-back comes to us.
New Groups
We have a few new groups using the centre. These include
· Mother and baby yoga and All levels Yoga (both Thurs mornings)
· Picture Framing (Wednesday evenings)
· Drawing and painting (Tuesday evenings)
· The Stroke Association (Wednesday mornings)
In January a new self-defense group will be starting up on Monday evenings, run by a retired policeman. This will include tips on safety
awareness, as well as more physical techniques.
Details of our users and classes are regularly updated on our website at www.petersfieldcommunitycentre.org.uk
Publicity
If you use Facebook, check out Petersfield Community Centre (the entry with our logo) and ‘like’ our page to subscribe. If you run a group here, you can publicise it on our facebook page, and upload any photos of your group’s events. If you prefer, one of our
trustees (a photographer) is happy to pop in by arrangement and photograph your group for publicity purposes – contact us if interested. We also post any news on our facebook page.
Staff:
We have said goodbye to Amy, our Tuesday office volunteer who is moving to India with her fiancé. Her place has already been filled by a lady called Hilary.
Having said goodbye to Tony the caretaker, who retired recently, he popped in to help us out for a couple of weeks whilst the new caretaker was recovering from a minor operation. We are happy to report that Richard is recovering and back at work, though hobbling a bit, today.
Thank you for being a pal. Any ideas, comments or suggestions are always welcome.
Best wishes
Emma Bunday
